Update on Trestle Creek

Dear Trestle Creek advocates –

Thank you again for speaking up for the bull trout and other critters that live at Trestle Creek! More than 830 people came together to speak out against The Idaho Club’s most recent effort to build luxury housing and a large commercial marina in the most important bull trout habitat in the Pend Oreille basin. We appreciate every one of you, and by speaking up in concert, we have the best chance of saving this special place.

The Idaho Department of Lands will issue their decision about the aspects of the development that are under their jurisdiction by November 18th. We’ll be sure to keep you informed about that decision and any next steps. No matter what decision the Department of Lands makes, it’s important to keep in mind that the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) and the Idaho Department of Water Resources must also approve the plans. The Corps process must adhere to requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act, which also gives opportunity for the public to weigh in. Keep an eye out for another call to action from us over the coming months!

We will keep you informed and look forward to continuing to work together to save Trestle Creek and all the life that it supports. We must not let this priceless community asset be degraded by the pollution, invasive weeds, garbage and noise that would come along with a huge misplaced marina and luxury houses.

For Trestle Creek!
